首先，新英雄「Venture」會在新賽季開跑後直接開放給所有玩家使用。根據遊戲總監 Aaron Keller 的介紹，Venture 手持電鑽型武器，且能夠遁地。

配了新角賽季展開就無條件解鎖，官方也宣布所有的英雄會一併開放給所有玩家使用。此外，未來的出角將依循此模式，玩家不再需要透過通行證取得角色。沒錯，就是回到一代的意思啦。

接著，暴雪新增過去通行證專屬神話造型的額外入手管道，讓先前沒能入手的玩家能夠湊齊圖鑑。除此之外，神話造型預計會有更多客製化選項。

至於玩法上的更新，遊戲模式有先前暴雪嘉年華曝光的對戰模式「交鋒」（Clash），以及新版花村「花崗」，另有一張新地圖「Runasapi」。
